• A Perfect Pantry

Hi Everyone!  Hope that despite all the horrible things going on in the world, you are each finding something that brings you joy.  Even if its something small, its so necessary to stay sane and to find joy amidst the chaos.  For me, its setting up our home, room by room, closet by closet!  Today, I want to share our pantry, well 1 of the 2 pantries that we have.  When we looked at the house, I realized that even though the kitchen was “redone” it lacked substantial cabinet space.  I then quickly realized that there were two pantries to make up for what the kitchen lacked.  Unfortunately, they needed a huge update and by that I mean, an upgrade in the form of a custom design.

I went in search of a closet company near our home and came across Closets to Adore.  If you are in the NJ area, I highly recommend them.  The process was smooth and simply entailed an initial phone consult and then an in-home design consult.  I was able to work with the designer to land on a design for our pantries/closet (we did our entryway closet as well, I’ll share that later) that worked best for our needs.  They were fairly priced and followed all COVID-19 related safety precautions. Once our installation date was set, I worked to set up the pantries for install, by removing all the contents, which included removal of the old wire shelving, patching holes, painting and wallpapering.

On installation day, their team arrived on time, wore masks and covered our floors to protect them as they completed the installation.  They cleaned up everything before they left and installed everything as planned and agreed upon.  I honestly could not be happier.  I know they are just closets, but for me, they are so much more.  Now, one thing I should say upfront, I did NOT wait until the pantries were done to source everything needed to organize them.  I spent most of January ordering and collecting supplies for the pantries and used some of what we already had from our apartment kitchen organization.  As always, I do hope that you check out my pics below and if you would like to know where anything is from, leave me a comment!  Thanks for reading and make sure that you follow me on IG and Pinterest where I share more inspiration and details.

Coming up next, our entryway closet.  You won’t want to miss how I turned a typical closet into a multipurpose storage space!

I always start my design projects with a moodboard. Sometimes I follow them exactly, sometimes I don’t, but I like to have all the core pieces of the design in one place. The pic on the top left is an inspiration pic, I love everything about that pantry.

This is the back wall of the pantry and it has two shelves above the counter. I found this wallpaper on Spoonflower.com and I just love it. I like for closets to have a pop of color and to be a bit whimsical. Since the space hides behind a door and isn’t a main room or focal point in our home, I think its ok to experiment and have fun with it!

This is my favorite shelf! I love the containers for dry goods. I also love the oil bottles on the lazy susan with the clear and white labels. I searched high and low for items that speak to me, so when I tell you I picked out every detail, I did. I love that the shelves are adjustable and solid. The organizer in the middle is for crafts and I thought it would be perfect for my baking supplies. I placed a lazy susan on top of it to house all the extracts.

These bottles with these labels are everything to me! Check World Market for the oil bottles. They are perfect not only for oils and vinegars, but also for syrups and juice for cocktails.

The top shelf has some extra mason jars, our bread box, and a cookbook on an acrylic stand. The cookbook stand is a must-have! It protects the pages from getting filthy and can be used with my iPad as well.  Shelf risers are so convenient when organizing shelves so they are a must!  Our mason jars have different pasta noodles in them, which I use during #soupseason and #grillingseason.

The shelves below the counter hold all of our canned goods (also on shelf risers), plus various condiments, baking overstock, salad fixings and snacks. I also have larger items like vegetable and olive oil bottles on the very bottom in the back. The metal baskets were old, but all the turquoise baskets are from Target!

This side of the pantry is our coffee and tea area! The tea organizer is my favorite, you can find it in my Amazon store. Our loose tea collection is stored in plastic containers that I found at Target and the baskets on both shelves are from Target as well. We have so much tea, coffee, honey, agave, coffee filters, etc. so I love that its all in one place. We definitely don’t need more! (I ordered labels for the basket and will update this post once they come in).

This acrylic tray holds coffee and tea accoutrement like honey sticks and raw sugar.

These plastic containers are from The Container Store, part of the Home Edit collection.

    Perfect cereal cannisters.

I shared this door organizer on my IG, but in case you missed it, here it is again! Use your door real estate for organizing. We purchased this from Target and its by Closet Maid. Inexpensive and super easy to install and is the perfect place to store all of our Victoria Gourmet spices. I didn’t want our pantry shelves to be filled with spices so this worked out great.
