Good Morning Everyone and Happy Tuesday! The days and weeks just keep flying by or maybe they are crawling by, I’m not really sure. What I do know is that the weather is changing and I am itching to for blue skies, beaches and bike rides. So since we are still quarantined, I figured I would tackle another project that keeps me busy and entertained and try to bring a little outside in. If you have been following me on IG, then you know that I love plants and my apartment is full of them. I also love flowers and plan to have a beautiful garden as soon as we move.
Any who, until then, here is a little project that I did, that’s simple, inexpensive and fun. My husband and I took a trip to Metropolitan Plant Exchange, a plant and flower shop with four locations in NJ. Our favorite location has to be the one in Fort Lee, NJ, but we recently ventured out to the Metropolitan Farm in Closter, NJ and it did not disappoint. On one of our trips, I purchased a few terracotta pots and small plants to put in our living room. I really love ceramic pots and I normally buy beautiful ones are Homegoods for a low price, but because they are closed, I decided buy a few plain pots and paint them myself. -small plants, 2-4 inches – my favorites are pothos, spider plants, snake plants and aloe plants
-ceramic pots – make sure that your pots are bigger than the plants you are putting in them
-paint – I love craft paint – but – if you can’t find it, go to Lowe’s or Home Depot and get a paint sample, it’ll work just fine
-paintbrushes
-container for cleaning brushes and a place to spread paint
-tape – preferably masking or painter’s tape – needed for making designs
-potting soil, if you plan to actually transfer the plants into the new pots
