• Get Winterized!

Happy Sunday!  I have to admit, this is absolutely my favorite time of year and I am a bit biased since its my birth month and I am a total sucker for the holidays.  Also, I love winter fashion and I absolutely LOVE decorating my home with holiday items and changing my linens for the colder weather.

So, similar to fall and my “fallerizing” (if you have no clue what I am talking about, check out my post about fallerizing here), I also like to “winterize” my home’s décor.  By changing my table settings, pillows, blankets, candles and hanging lights and putting up my Christmas tree, my home becomes “winterized” in a short amount of time.

However, we all know that its easy to go overboard with the decorations, so check out my ways of keeping your home tastefully winterized!  Feel free to share your pictures or comments below and as always thanks for reading and Happy Holidays!

Here is a pic of our narrow little living room, completely winterized and Mr. Big approved!

If you saw my fallerizing post, you can see that I changed my pillows and throw to make the space more holiday and winter ready!  The white snowflake pillow is from Pier 1!

I changed my tablerunner (from Pier 1), added faux leather turquoise placemats (from Pier 1) and put this adorable tree candle inside a wire basket.  I created this winter white bouquet with hydrangeas, carnations and baby’s breath from my local supermarket and the vase I found at Homegoods during the summer (I added a turquoise ribbon for an added sparkle!)

Another view of my table set up.  The ornament wreath you see pictured is a DIY I will be sharing this week so stay tuned!

A few sparkly stars to add to the décor (found the large one at Homegoods and the small ones at Pier 1)

Another view of my winter white bouquet!

A little side table styling with glass candle holders from Pier 1 and a Christmas tree candle from target.

Here I filled a large glass vase with silver and gold ornaments that I purchased at Kirklands!

My favorite winterized item – my Christmas tree!  If you follow me on Instagram (if not, check out my page @cosmopolitanclosets) then you know how much I love hunting for beautiful ornaments and have amassed a beautiful collection of them in silver, gold, pewter, mercury glass and turquoise.
