• “Fallerizing”

Happy Friday and Happy (early) Halloween!  This post is coming a little late in the season, but late is better than never right?  “Fallerizing” to me (which obviously is a made up word) is the act of making your home reflect the Fall season, colors and scents.

I decided to blog about how I “Fallerize” my home because I have a a passion for interior décor (not quite as much as my passion for organizing) and as the seasons change, I like to make some subtle changes to my living/dining room area to reflect that!  Since we are in the height of the fall here in the Northeast, I decided to spice up my home with some great finds from TJMaxx.

Here are the items that I think are the easiest and most cost-effective way to change your space:

    • Pillows
    • Throws
    • Candles
    • Plants
    • Placemats/Tablecloths
    • Trays
    • Curtains/Sheers

I have some before and after pictures below, as well as my favorite websites/stores for scoring great seasonal décor.  Happy “fallerizing”!

BEFORE:  My living room in the summer, with light sheers at the windows and a light colored throw.

AFTER:  My living room “Fallerized”!  I added dark turquoise sheers and an orange pillow and throw that I found at TJMaxx.

LEFT: My table setup in the spring and summer.  Beautiful roses and lilies.

RIGHT:  I found this wire potpourri pumpkin at Marshalls last year and the mini candles are from Bath and Body Works.  The bottom pic is of my fall bouquet (flowers found at Wegmans) and pumpkins and gourds.  I also found that pumpkin scented Yankee Candle at Homegoods.  Same tray in all 3 pics!

Got these faux leather placemats and table runner from Pier 1Imports!

Here is another view of the beautiful bouquet that I created out of lilies, tulips, poms and alstroemerias (or aka Peruvian lilies).

Here is a list of my fave places to find seasonal home décor at a reasonable price:

    World Market

    Target

    Pier 1 Imports

    TJ Maxx

    Hobby Lobby

JCPenney (great selection of sheer curtains at an affordable price)

Homegoods, Marshalls, Burlington and WalMart are also other great places to score seasonal décor.
