HomeGoods Has it All

Hi Everyone!  Happy Hump Day!  I just have to share a few of the items that I came across this past weekend in HomeGoods!  The first store I went to is located in Seacaucus, NJ and is a Marshalls and HomeGoods combined, a savvy shopper's haven!  After not having much luck in the clothing department, I went thru the HomeGoods section with a fine tooth comb, delighted with all of the organizing items they had in stock.  Check out this link to find a location near you! Also, I checked out the manufacturer's website, U.S. Acrylic and while they don't have an e-commerce site set up, they do offer assistance with finding products through a retailer and they have a great catalog to view other organizing options.

With that being said, please check out some of the organizers I spotted and let me know what you think!

This jewelry organizer is so cute and a good size!  Perfect for bracelets and watches!  I think it is priced at $79.99.
I love this acrylic organizer too!  It has built-in necklace hangers, perfect for those dainty necklaces.  Same price point I think.

This mirrored armoire is similar to the one I blogged about on January 2nd.  It is priced at $299.99

The inside of the armorie has a ton of drawers on the left hand side and plenty of hooks and cubbies on the right side, perfect for all kinds of accessories!

Cosmopolitan Closets Customizing: A Box Fit For a Queen

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday!  Hope your week is off to a good start :)  I want to share my latest and greatest customizing DIY project with you!  Recently, I posted about the multiple uses of hat boxes in my Scares, Gloves and So Much More! post (check out the link in case you missed it).  During my holiday travels, my cousin purchased an adorable headband in London, much like the ones everyone wore to Prince Williams Royal Wedding.  I suggested that she store it in a hat box for safekeeping and I decided to customize one for her to match the organizing accessories she already has.

I found a plain hat box set on Walmart's website for $5.49, which is way less than the price of just one hat box if you buy them in the store.  I used the same paint from my Cosmopolitan Customizing: Everyone Loves Ombre post, as well as Display Case Update: Cosmopolitan Customizing, with a color blocking technique and some jewels to decorate the largest box.  The possibilities for customizing are endless, so if you are interested in a box for your hats, just leave me a note in the comments!

Check out my pics below and as always, let me know what you think!

Here is the adorable headband-hat that my cousin wore on NYE in London!  Soooo cute!

This headband-hat alone takes up the entire box lol

I painted the box 3 colors, pink, white and turquoise and glued some jewels on the top for an added touch!  I wanted to cover the entire box top with jewels, but I didn't have enough :-(

Her hat box fits perfectly on the dresser stowed away in her closet!

The hat box goes perfectly with her other jewelry organizers.

You can never go wrong a with an organized walk-in closet!

A Mirrored Armoire? Yes Please!

Every year in December, I look for something special to buy for myself for my birthday, naturally lol.  This year, I figured that I had enough clothes and accessories and since I was already traveling for the holidays, there was no need to come book another trip.  And then I came across the most amazing item, a mirrored armoire!!  LOL!

Now, to you, this may be something a bit dated, vintage or old school even.  But to me, a mirrored armoire is so current, so fresh and oh so necessary, haha.  To make things even better, it is a part of the bedroom set that I already own.  What makes this mirror perfect, is that there is storage space for jewelry in addition to having a full body mirror.  I decided that if I couldn't fit the collection's vanity in my bedroom, then the mirrored armoire is the next best thing!

Check it out and let me know what you think!  I chose to hang my sparkly statement necklaces inside, as well as some bangles.  Currently I have 21 necklaces hung up with space to add a few more :)

Also, I found a great alternative to the standing one that I have, one that hangs on the back of the door (see last picture).  Here is the link from HSN's website.  Good price and lots of storage space, plus it comes in a bunch of different colors, I mean what's not to love!

It fits perfectly in the corner next to my other armoire!
Great hanging space for long necklaces and lots of room for bracelets, rings and brooches!

Well Hello 2014!

Happy New Year everyone!  While 2013 was good, I am expecting 2014 to be great!  I recently returned from a holiday trip to Paris and London and just wanted to share some photos of my journey.  Let me tell you, if you think the apartments are small in NYC, they are even smaller in Paris and London!

What was interesting, however, is that the places I stayed were simply organized, without any clutter but still charming and cozy and it got me to thinking, do we own too many things here in the States?  IDK!  In any event, I hope that I can continue to provide clever and chic ways to organize the items you already have and maybe help you think twice about buying something you may already have stuffed somewhere in your closet!  Check out my pics and let me know what space you need help organizing this year!!!
