Cosmopolitan Closets Remix - Accessories Galore!

Happy Thursday everyone! I am so excited to share my latest and greatest organizing remix! In one of my previous posts, Accessories, Accessories, Accessories, I discussed the multiple ways that I organize my necklaces, bracelets and earrings.  However, as my necklace collection continued to grow, I found that they were getting tangled and harder to store.  As I perused  Pinterest, I came across a ton of ideas for organizing necklaces (see below).

Here is a picture that I found on Pinterest, I love how the necklaces are displayed on a single bar!  Unfortunately, I do not have the space for this kind of set up in my room.

Here is another picture (from Pinterest of course) that I found with necklaces hung the same way as above, but multiple bars for hanging other items like scarves.

After purchasing and returning multi organizing contraptions in the past 2 weeks, I finally realized that the solution was under my nose the entire time!  My boyfriend has a towel rack on the back of his bathroom door (yes I am rubbing off on him) and I realized that it would be perfect for organizing my necklace collection.  Take a look at my old system and pictures of my new one and let me know what you think!  The over-the-door towel rack is from Bed, Bath and Beyond and can be found here!

Here is a picture of my old system, an over-the-door rack with 8 hooks that did not do a good job of keeping my necklaces organized and tangle free :(

Here is a picture of the new over-the-door towel rack (only cost $9.99).  It features 2 hooks on the bottom for additional hanging.

BAM!  Here is my new system with bracelets on the top row and necklaces on the 2nd and 3rd rows.  I used shower curtain rings for the bottom row of necklaces to give them extra space to hang.

Cosmopolitan Closets Makeover #2: A Gentleman's Closet

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I am so excited to share another one of my closet renovations with you!  One of my good friends asked me to organize her boyfriend's closet for him as a birthday surprise.  I jumped at the chance to do it because men's closets are soooo much easier than women's closets and I can usually do what I want!  Prior to organizing the closet, I actually did not have the opportunity to go to his apartment, so I had to trust her pictures and descriptions.

Introducing Geneviève

Hi everyone!  So I am sure you are wondering what the heck am I talking about, lol. Well, Geneviève is my dress form and I just have to tell you about her!  I would say about 2 years ago, I started noticing dress forms in Marshall's, TJMaxx and Pier 1 in all shapes and sizes. It wasn't until recently, however, that I discovered they have a multi-purpose and sought out to find one perfect for my room. I actually found Geneviève in a Homegoods store (for $50) in NJ and literally had to hold onto her until my boyfriend came to carry her to the register (yes, the vultures were circling, but I am a master shopper lol).  Anyway, since bringing her home I have found her to be extremely useful. Not only does she offer a place to hang necklaces, belts and scarves, but she also helps me plan outfits without having to try them on!  Check out my pics below and let me know what you think?  Do you have a dress form?

Geneviève is très chic! She is a light grey and blue color!

Here, she is wearing my bubble necklaces, peplum belt and a scarf from F21
Here, I was trying to plan an outfit for a night out!  I love nude and neon looks.
Here is a dress form pic that I found on pinterest!  sooo pretty..
This is a cool, space saving way to store brooches and necklaces (also from pinterest).
