Cosmopolitan Closets Customizing: TV Trays

Hi everyone! I am super excited to share my latest and greatest project with you, my customized tv trays. Since deciding not to invest in a traditional coffee table for my living, I purchased two tv trays from Wal-Mart for $8 each to hold my beverages and such.  After cruising Pinterest, I came across a pin of someone's customized tray and it gave me the idea to do the same to mine.

My living room (and whole apartment for that matter lol) is decorated in cream, black and turquoise, therefore I decided to do a pop of cotton candy pink and cream and black stripes for my tv trays. I decided to use the same Martha Stewart Living craft paint found in Home Depot in Lampblack (textured black paint) and Behr paint in Pearldrop and Springtime Blossom. Also, I used Martha Stewart Living primer/sealer.  Take a look at the pics below and let me know what you think!  Have you customized anything in your home?  Share your stories and pictures!!

Plain tv tray, kind of boring lol

Finished product!

For the Love of Lucite

Hi Everyone!  Since its been awhile since my last post, I have plenty to share. I've been noticing more and more that lucite or acrylic furniture is becoming more popular and that popularity has spilled over into organizing. While watching a show that will remain nameless (lol), I saw the most amazing clear drawer system for makeup or better known as the "Clear Cube".  After much debate, I decided to buy one for myself and have to say that I am totally pleased with my decision.

In order to make the best use of my cube, I decided to separate my nail polish, eye makeup, lipsticks and lip glosses and blush/foundation. By separating all my makeup, I have found that its easy to get ready in the morning. Also, by storing makeup in a clear container, it's easier to see what I have and what I need to restock via Sephora :)

I have come across a few inexpensive versions in Marshalls and Target that allow you to organize your makeup in individual compartments. Check out the pictures and links below and let me know how you organize your makeup!

Here is a great drawer organizer!

If you have the space, this option is great and cost effective!

Here are a few pictures of my cube and how I have it organized. Let me know what you think.

Here is a picture of one lucite organizer that I found at Marshall's for $15.
